Barrett Rouse, CFP
Prior to founding Pin Oak in 1989, Barrett worked as a financial analyst with a local investment advisor. He also worked as a management consultant with a large accounting firm. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a Registered Investment Advisor. He earned a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin in 1984 and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin in 1986. Barrett has been named by Texas Monthly as a Five Star Wealth Manager and is a Qualified Kingdom Advisor. Barrett is also the founder and President of Stoney Creek Foundation, the supporting entity of Stoney Creek Ranch, a camp targeting inner city children of Houston.
Dan Estes, CFP
Prior to joining Pin Oak in 2010, Dan served as a Financial Consultant in Houston, TX. Providing individual financial services since 1994, his previous roles include Regional Sales Supervisor, Vice President and Branch Manager with large national firms. Dan co-hosted MoneySmart and High Noon, radio programs that aired in Houston and Dallas. He is a member of the West University Rotary and a graduate of Rice University with a BBA in Economics, Political Science, and Business. With a particular interest in the challenges faced by adolescents, he volunteers annually as a camp counselor in Dry Creek, LA and remains an active member of the Southside Church of Christ, contributing there as a song leader and bible class teacher.
Scott Pappas, CDFA®
Scott is a financial advisor at Pin Oak with over 17 years experience serving the investment needs of high net-worth clients and families. Scott earned his Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Nebraska in 1986 and his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law Houston in 1996. Scott's legal background as a former practicing attorney as well as his 17 years spent at top Wall Street firms enables him to provide great insight and solutions for his clients no matter how complex or simple the situation. Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as cooking and fitness. As a part of his love for fitness Scott has completed over twelve triathlons. He has served on the advisory board of a privately held software company. Scott currently serves on the board of Trustees of First Baptist Academy including a leadership role on the school’s finance committee. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Logos Leaders Outreach, a non-profit Christian ministry.
Nathan Norman, CFP, CFA
Nathan comes to Pin Oak bringing extensive experience in asset valuation, economic research and portfolio analysis. He started his career as an analyst in the capital markets division of a large bank, running financial and risk analysis on a fixed income portfolio just under $500 million in size. Before coming to Pin Oak, Nathan spent several years in the role of Associate for a multi-billion dollar investment firm, building financial models used in the acquisition and development of large complex assets. During this time, he helped to secure nearly half a billion dollars in project financing, throughout the worst credit crisis since the Great Depression. In addition to graduating from Baylor University with a BBA in Finance and Real Estate, Nathan also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is an active member of the CFA Society of Houston.
Prior to joining Pin Oak, Jonathan was a Vice President and Financial Consultant with a large national brokerage firm for ten years and worked with a Fortune 500 medical device company. There he served as the Team Leader for cardiac rhythm device management (CRM) patient care where he enjoyed assisting physicians with the surgical implantation and post-surgery optimization of CRM devices. A graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Business Administration and Business Communications, he began his career as a Process Improvement Facilitator with a large national building materials manufacturer. Jonathan lives in The Woodlands area and when he is not assisting clients, he enjoys exercise and spending time with his wife, Shauna, and their daughters, Audrey and Andie. Jonathan and his family support the Humanitarian relief efforts of World Vision International.
